When did you start drumming and why?

I started playing drums at the age of 8. I saw famous drummers playing Peruvian music on vacation and immediately fell in love with the instrument.

I knew I wanted to be a musician when I first heard Metallica in 2001.

I also play various instruments: guitar, bass, ukulele and a bit of piano, but drums are my real passion!

What’s your favorite style of drumming?

I’m pretty eclectic, but I have to admit it: rock and metal are my favorite drumming styles.

However, I have studied jazz in various schools and I also like to play funk and groove.

What’s your favorite band/artist and why?

As a drummer, my answer is often mocked, but I’ll always be in love with Metallica, even if it’s not really the band I listen to most at the moment.

Today, I have a soft spot for artists like Alt-J, Twenty-One Pilots, Ibrahim Maalouf, Emancipator, Gojira, Architects…

Why did you choose Vikory?

I chose Vikory because I’m really comfortable with these chopsticks and their design is really great! I can’t recommend them enough!

Any special stories about you as a drummer?

In France, we celebrate the national music festival on June 21. When I was 15, I played with a thrash metal cover band in Versailles.

The problem was that in this town, the music was supposed to stop at midnight, so the police started unplugging the instruments and the audience started screaming in frustration.

So, as a drummer, and since my instrument is acoustic and already unplugged, I started a drum solo to make the audience laugh.

The cops didn’t laugh, though. Instead, they came up to me and threatened to arrest me, so I stopped immediately…

What’s your favourite Vikory model and why?

My favorite Vikory model is the Ananda in 5A, because the weight is well distributed over the rods. Not too heavy, not too light.

But I have to admit it’s a difficult choice to make.
