My parents aren\u2019t musicians and there was no drummer in my surroundings.<\/p>\nFrom what I\u2019ve heard, I started very early to hit everything everywhere with rhythm. I would build \u201cdrums\u201d out of pans I would find in the kitchen.<\/p>\nEventually, my parents put me in music school to learn how to play the drums, and I will never thank them enough for doing so!<\/p>\nWhat is your favorite type of music to play on the drums?<\/strong><\/p>\nI love to play samples that could be from electronic music but on an acoustic drum set! It requires a lot of accuracy in the groove and a lot of precision in every hit.<\/p>\nI work a lot with a click to achieve that! Also, I would love to play some reggae but the other guys from the band don\u2019t want to (laugh).<\/p>\nWhat is your single favorite band\/artist and why?<\/strong><\/p>\nGorillaz.<\/p>\nI love their universe. They get inspirations from everywhere, visually as much as musically speaking.<\/p>\nWhy did you choose Vikory?<\/strong><\/p>\nMy story with Vikory is a bit special. I met Cl\u00e9ment (founder of Vikory) a few years ago during an interview for Dissident.<\/p>\nWe kept in touch since then, and when I learned about Vikory I fell for it immediately!<\/p>\nCreating your own drumsticks brand when the market is owned by 3 American giants feels a bit like David against Goliath in my opinion. I really admire that!<\/p>\nAny special anecdote about you as a drummer?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\nI remember a gig we had in a big venue called \u201cl\u2019A\u00e9ronef\u201d in Lille, France. We were opening for the band Two Door Cinema Club as we were touring with them.<\/p>\nWe had quite a party the night before and, as we were doing the sound checks for the drums, I ran to the toilets to throw up.<\/p>\nWhen I got back, the manager of the venue had put a plastic bowl next to the drum set.<\/p>\nWe were playing at 8.30 pm and, immediately after the show, we had to go to Paris for a festival which is basically 24h of music. Nonstop. We were playing at 4 am.<\/p>\nThe day felt like it would never end!<\/p>\nWhat\u2019s your favorite Vikory model and why?<\/strong><\/p>\nThe\u00a0<\/span>Ananda in 5A<\/a>.
